Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald Berry Uses and Locations

  • Cartridges with a dead internal battery will be unable to grow additional berries and receive daily gifts from NPCs. Replacing a dead battery can also result in glitches related to timed events. It will be extremely difficult to get to Mirage Island on a cartridge with a dead internal battery.

  • It is not possible to receive every berry in a single playthrough. It will require multiple game resets and trading to get all 5 berries that are based on the Trainer ID number.

  • Access to a GameCube with Pokemon Colosseum or XD: Gale of Darkness and a link-cable is necessary.

  • 01 Cheri Berry - Cures paralysis - Grows on Routes 103 and 104 upon arriving; possible to receive at the Pretty Petal flower shop; possible to receive from a Gentleman in Lilycove City; possible to receive from the Berry Master\'s wife if do not get a "special berry."

  • 02 Chesto Berry - Cures sleep - Grows on Routes 104, 116, and 121 upon arriving; possible to receive at the Pretty Petal flower shop; possible to receive from a Gentleman in Lilycove City; possible to receive from the Berry Master\'s wife if do not get a "special berry."

  • 03 Pecha Berry - Cures poison - Grows on Routes 102, 104, 112, 120, and 123 upon arriving; possible to receive at the Pretty Petal flower shop; possible to receive from a Gentleman in Lilycove City; possible to receive from the Berry Master\'s wife if do not get a "special berry."

  • 04 Rawst Berry - Cures burns - Grows on Routes 112, 121, and 123 upon arriving; possible to receive at the Pretty Petal flower shop; possible to receive from a Gentleman in Lilycove City; possible to receive from the Berry Master\'s wife if do not get a "special berry."

  • 05 Aspear Berry - Cures frozen status - Grows on Routes 120 and 121 upon arriving; possible to receive at the Pretty Petal flower shop; possible to receive from a Gentleman in Lilycove City; possible to receive from the Berry Master\'s wife if do not get a "special berry."

  • 06 Leppa Berry - Restores 10 PP - Grows on Routes 103, 104, 119, and 123 upon arriving; possible to receive at the Pretty Petal flower shop; possible to receive from a Gentleman in Lilycove City; possible to receive from the Berry Master\'s wife if do not get a "special berry."

  • 07 Oran Berry - Restores 10 HP - Grows on Routes 102, 104, and 111 upon arriving; possible to receive at the Pretty Petal flower shop; possible to receive from a Gentleman in Lilycove City; possible to receive from the Berry Master\'s wife if do not get a "special berry."

  • 08 Persim Berry - Cures confusion - Grows on Routes 114 and 121 upon arriving; possible to receive at the Pretty Petal flower shop; possible to receive from a Gentleman in Lilycove City; possible to receive from the Berry Master\'s wife if do not get a "special berry."

  • 09 Lum Berry - Cures any status condition and confusion - Possible to receive from a Gentleman in Lilycove City; possible to receive from the Berry Master\'s wife if do not get a "special berry."

  • 10 Sitrus Berry - Restores 30 HP - Grows on Routes 118, 119, and 123 upon arriving; possible to receive from a Gentleman in Lilycove City; possible to receive from the Berry Master\'s wife if do not get a "special berry."

  • 11 Figy Berry - If HP falls to 50% or below, restores 12.5% of HP; also causes confusion in Pokemon that dislike spicy food - Possible to receive from Kiri in Sootopolis City; given by a Beauty on Route 120 daily if the player\'s ID number ends in 0 or 5.

  • 12 Wiki Berry - If HP falls to 50% or below, restores 12.5% of HP; also causes confusion in Pokemon that dislike dry food - Given by a Beauty on Route 120 daily if the player\'s ID number ends in 1 or 6.

  • 13 Mago Berry - If HP falls to 50% or below, restores 12.5% of HP; also causes confusion in Pokemon that dislike sweet food - Given by a Beauty on Route 120 daily if the player\'s ID number ends in 2 or 7.

  • 14 Aguav Berry - If HP falls to 50% or below, restores 12.5% of HP; also causes confusion in Pokemon that dislike bitter food - given by a Beauty on Route 120 daily if the player\'s ID number ends in 3 or 8.

  • 34 Durin Berry - No effect - Received from the Berry Master\'s wife after telling her the phrase "Cool Latios." Only available after registering Latios as "seen" in the Pokedex, only available to receive once.

  • 35 Belue Berry - No effect - Receive from the Berry Master\'s wife after telling her the phrase "Super Hustle." Only available after entering the Hall of Fame, only able to receive once.

  • 36 Liechi Berry - Raises Attack when HP falls below 25% - Grows on Mirage Island on Route 130 upon arriving. Overwhelmingly rare to access this island where access is granted based on invisible values related to a Pokemon\'s personality. An individual Pokemon has a 1/65536 chance of causing the island to appear each day. If the game cartridge\'s internal battery is dead, the invisible numbers causing Mirage Island to spawn will never change.

  • 37 Ganlon Berry - Raises Defense when HP falls below 25% - Must be transferred from Pokemon Colosseum or Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

  • 38 Salac Berry - Raises Speed when HP falls below 25% - Must be transferred from Pokemon Colosseum or Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

  • 39 Petaya Berry - Raises Special Attack when HP falls below 25% - Must be transferred from Pokemon Colosseum or Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

  • 40 Apicot Berry - Raises Special Defense when HP falls below 25% - Must be transferred from Pokemon Colosseum or Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness.

  • 41 Lansat Berry - Raises critical hit ratio when HP falls below 25% - Emerald only: Given away by Scott in the Battle Frontier after the player has obtained all seven Silver Frontier Symbols

  • 42 Starf Berry - Sharply raises a random stat when HP falls below 25% - Emerald only: Given away by Scott in the Battle Frontier after the player has obtained all seven Gold Frontier Symbols

  • Bonus: 43 Enigma Berry - Not obtainable through standard gameplay, was originally used as a placeholder for e-Reader Berries. May be placed in the game using a cheating device like a GameShark or Action Replay.
